I think it is really cool when you get to setup a review for a local company that contacts you and not the other way around. In the town in between my home and work, Apinya Thai Chili Sauce company resides in Herndon, VA. I was happy to oblige Adam Ross the creator. I want to congratulate Adam on the big win at the Fiery Food Challenge at Zestfest 2013 with their first Golden Chile Award for Hot Sauce: Asian-Style – Consumer Ready category. You know you made it big time when you can snatch up one of those bad boys. So what makes this Asian sauce so special? The ginger is a very heavy influence in the flavor from what are reviewers will tell you. If you are not a fan of ginger, this sauce might not be the one you are looking for. On the other hand, if you do love ginger, you might want to explore what the Texas judges at Zestfest saw in this product. Our reviewers will tell you their tale of extremes with their review. I tell you, since ginger is such an ingredient that can make or break your dish, make your own decisions on this product. For this review we have Derrick Wood, The Schobergs and Steve Chambers. Before we get to the review, a little about the Apinya Thai Chile Sauce Company.

We have a mission to make premium quality hot sauce using a few simple ideals: use fresh, natural ingredients instead of frozen or dried whenever possible; source locally whenever possible; don’t use any artificial colors or flavors; and make something great that no one else has before.

Description
Apinya Thai Chili Sauce is inspired by the flavors of Thailand and made with fresh Thai chilies, roasted red peppers, ginger, and garlic. It’s also vegan, gluten-free, fat free, low sodium, and has no artificial colors or flavors.

      Ha, I did my best. This stuff is awesome guys. My wife surprisingly didn’t care for it, but her sister and two kids all raved over it. Like you’ve heard already, if you don’t like ginger,you’ll hate this. It is easily three times as dominant as the next flavor.

        I really wanted to like this sauce….and I do really enjoy ginger. The problem I had was the lack of other flavors to balance it out. All I tasted was ginger and chiles. Didn’t even really strike me as “Thai” except for the type of peppers used. Maybe if it was called Thai Chili Ginger Sauce or something, my expectations may have been different. Of course this is just my opinion, since everyone has different tastes. :-)
